Van Der News: Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 gets title change, release date

What’s up, guys? We know it’s been a while, but frankly, we were waiting for some sweet, succulent news to tell all the devoted Van Der Fans about Apartment 23, the upcoming ABC sitcom where our Spirit Animal will play a fictionalized version of himself. That might have been a mistake, given that only now during the 2012 Television Critics Association Press Tour are we hearing some news since the show was unceremoniously left off the 2011 fall TV schedule.

First up: the show is seeing another name change back to a variation of the original and will now be known as Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, because we all know how well $#*! My Dad Says‘ title worked out. That’s not snark. That’s genuine confusion. Is it a wise move to make the title of a network television show something you can’t actually say on network TV? I’m not sure. Personally, I liked the abbreviated name, but it’s not like someone who publishes a series of articles called Van Der News is really someone with perspective on the whole thing.
Second, and biggest: There is a release date! Tune in on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 9:3opm to watch the show! Fans of Happy Endings will note that this is that series’ time slot.

At the press event, Van Der Beek was reportedly asked, “”Are you allowed to see Katie Holmes?” by critic Ed Bark. Another asked our Hero when it became okay to make fun of Dawson’s Creek. ”When the residual money ran out,” he replied.
Somethingth: It’s not as though Happy Endings will actually be going away, of course. Not only has the series been picked up for a full second season already, but ABC president Paul Lee mentioned that it might be part of a new comedy night with Don’t Trust the B—- and Cougar Town. “It will be great to have a group of great irreverent comedies together,” Lee explained. ”That’s the dream.” Mostly, we just have dreams about Dawson and Pacey.
I think that’s about as good an ending as any.
