Podcast! The Comics, Episode 158 – One Dikembe Mutombo Away

Contains no Powers!

This episode is brought to you by [YOUR BUSINESS HERE]! Our previous sponsorship arrangement has ended, and we’re looking for news ways to pay the (modest) bills. If you’d like to pay us to say nice things about you or your business, or simply not insult you on-air, or maybe to repeatedly insult someone else, let us know! I’m sure we can come to an agreement.

This week, the boys find their efforts to watch the first episode of the Powers TV adaptation blocked by a US-only release, so instead they just talk about other TV instead. First, they talk about Netflix’s new series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, its message of positivity and how it showcases the talents of Jane Krakowski. Next, they discuss the latest episode of Gravity Falls, “Not What He Seems,” and fall over themselves complimenting how the show manages to move forward its overall narrative while still keeping a tight focus on characters and their relationships.

Finally, they talk about new comics they enjoyed, such as All New Hawkeye #1, Spider-Woman #5, Princess Leia #1 and Descender #1, as well as navigating Rat Queens #9, a very good comic that’s still co-owned by an abuser, even if he’s no longer drawing it.
